The Holly Blanket Chest is crafted from American Black Cherry harvested in Pennsylvania. The select quality wood is sawn to exacting specifications and slowly kiln dried on King's Mountain in Maine. The top is matched and coopered using the same old time, barrel making methods from over a century ago. The base of the blanket chest features a floating panel, mortise and tenon construction which allows for seasonal movement and a dovetailed, full width drawer that glides effortlessly. The care and attention to detail will ensure that your handcrafted piece will become tomorrow's heirloom.
Details
The Holly Blanket Chest measure 21" wide x 42" long and 26" tall. The full width, dovetailed drawer is ideal for daily linens or Grandma's timeless treasures. Polished brass hardware is used for the hinges on the coopered top. A hand rubbed, multi-coat finish is applied after hours of preparation and fine sanding. This process yields a deep luster and a rich patina will develop as the piece ages. The passing of time will add to the patina and warm natural Cherry color.
